Out of the concessions for the marble, Prilep expects 18 million Denars
Prilep will use all the legal possibilities to get paid the 18 million Denars for the concession fee for exploitation of the marble and granite in the region. Another two tax inspectors will be employed and the Law for execution will be employed in order that the city receives the concession fee it has the right to.
“Of the expected 18 million, Prilep received only 7 million Denars this year. The majority of the money came from the biggest company FHL Kyriakidis Marble Combine - 5 million, although this company should pay 13 million in the budget”, Mr. Dragi Zvezdakoski, the head of the department for finance and budget said. “With paid 800 thousand concessions tax the company Dumigal Marble participated, and around 600 thousand was paid by both Krin and Larin companies. We expect another installment from the concessionaires these days, but still it is a fact that Prilep did not get all the money from the fee. According to the Law on concessions, out of the tax that the companies which exploit the mineral resources, especially the marble and granite are paying, 40 % are intended to the municipalities. At this moment, there are 33 companies which are engaged in research and exploitation of marble and granite, and the money is used to finance the infrastructure objects.”

The price of the electricity will be calculated according to the new methodology
The Regulatory Commission for Energy has approved the new methodology for the calculation of electricity price. The Rulebook was approved at the session the Commission held recently, and it determines the manner and the terms for the regulation of the electricity prices. The President of the commission, MR. Slave Ivanovski recently stated that the new methodology gives the possibility for a more transparent manner of calculation of the costs, i.e. a better insight of the Commission for the actually made costs of the enterprises. This methodology, according to him, provides for the normal operation of the companies engaged in the production, transfer and distribution of electric energy. It provides the possibility to the companies to cover the operative cost and the amortization in the performance of the appropriate regulated activity while achieving the prescribed quality for the activity performance. The aim is to create stable and forecast able conditions for the companies, balance the mutual interests, create conditions for development and maintenance of the existing and construction of new capacities for production, transfer and distribution of electric energy, non-discriminatory treatment, compensation of costs made while performing the regulated activity, appropriate capital return, improvement of energy efficiency, as well as protection of the environment.

MEPSO requires that EVN does not import electricity
MEPSO submitted the initiative to the Regulatory Commission for Energy to cancel the license issued to AD EVN Trading, a company established and owned in full by AD EVN Macedonia.
“This measure is in compliance with Article 50 par.4 of the Law on energy, and we were forced to do it because EVN Trading during the first 5 days of this year has conscientiously and purposefully been making misbalance of the system by importing 27 mega-watts of electric energy without a license from the supplier AD ELEM to do that”, says Mr. Nikola Stojanov, the MEPSO spokesman.
The request of MEPSO for the cancelation of the license by EVN spokeswoman, Mrs. Karpuzovska, was defined as completely illegal and irregular. She pointed out that all the competent institutions have been informed in due time that EVN Trading will be importing electric energy and there are proofs to verify that fact. “The import of electricity has been timely reported to all the competent institutions (MEPSO, RCE, ELEM and Ministry of Economy) at the same time, because this is something which the Law imposes, and the state institutions’ intent to cancel the license is unclear. She pointed out that even since of January the 1st the EVN Trading has been issued the ban for import. “This is completely contrary to the Law and because of the ban, the EVN is paying penalties  to the companies with which it has agreed to obtain the electricity for the technical loses of the system above 11 %”, the spokesman of EVN stated, adding that they could not import electricity because they were “completely blocked by MEPSO. We do not import by ourselves, MEPSO is the one that should give us the license. Instead, they banned our import, and simultaneously the same quantity was imported by ELEM. We denounce the alleged accusations from the Government and firmly declare that the company operates in compliance with all the Laws in the country. We completely respect the sale-purchase agreement and fulfill the obligations which arise from it. So far, in the improvement of the network and the services we have invested more than 85 million euros, by which the supply with electric energy has been significantly improved. Since the entrance of EVN in the country, the defects have been reduced for 26 %. We will continue to invest and operate in the best interest of the consumers”.

Cosmofon was the only one to submit the offer for Wimax frequencies for the second and third region
The Agency for Electronic Communications (AEK) publicly opened the offers for obtaining approvals for use of radio-frequencies ranging from 3,4-3,6 gigahertz for the fixed wireless access, as requested by the tender announced in December 2008. The following are the Wimax frequencies for the regions 2- Kumanovo, K.Palanka, Kratovo, Stip, Vinica, Kocani, S.Nikole, Probistip, Berovo, Pehcevo, Delcevo and Makedonska Kamenica, and 3 - Veles, Gradsko, Kavadarci, Negotino, D.Kapija, Strumica, Gevgelija, Valandovo and Dojran.
As the five member committee stated, only two offers from only one bidder - Cosmofon AD Skopje,  have been received, and the offers for the two regions are complete and in compliance with the tender documentation. In the period of five days, the commission should submit its report about the offers to AEK, which should bring out the final decision for the election of the most favorable bidder. The AEK approvals for the use of Wimax technology in the two regions should be issued to the company-bidder until February 23, the latest. According to the tender documentation, besides the other terms, Cosmofon had to offer a one-time fee of at least 15.000 euros per region, i.e. 30.000 euros for the two regions in question.

Germany is the first trading partner of the country
Federal Republic of Germany is the first trading partner of the country with the 1,3 billion dollars exchange, which is 30 % better than compared to last year. The increased trade exchange, as Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Gjorgi Filipov stated, is a direct indicator that our country is the real destination in which foreign companies can invest.  The most exported goods to Germany are the textiles, steel products, and food. Full story...
